Computer Paul And Akon Go Double Platinum With Mama Africa

Music producer “Computer Paul” Henton is widely appreciated by digital reggae and jungle fans, but not as widely recognized by mainstream channels. He’s had four of his tracks go Gold: “I Can See Clearly Now” by Jimmy Cliff, “As Raw As Ever” by Shabba Ranks, and two songs by Inner Circle, all (I think) from the 90’s. The spotlight shines on Computer Paul again this week as he receives his first platinum award and it’s a double!
Computer Paul accepts double platinum award from Tanya Mullings, a Canadian singer who congratulated him
The Jamaican musician played synthesizers on what the Jamaica Observer called an “earthy, reggae-infused ballad” that was produced by the legendary Bobby “Digital” Dixon. The song was used by Akon for “Mama Africa” on his latest album, Konvicted. The album was released earlier this year and reached double-platinum status in 16 weeks!
